snaped4me uses multiple technological, social media, and internet-based platforms to provide nutrition education to adult SNAP participants in both English and Spanish.
snaped4me is great for people who cannot attend one of our classes or workshops. If you work with people who may be eligible for this service you’ll want to read on!
- “How To” sections where SNAP participants can go to get information on where to access healthy foods/beverages (like Farmers’ Markets that accept SNAP benefits and WIC vouchers) and lists of places where people can go to be physically active in fun ways with their families in their own communities. New events and new sites are being added on an ongoing basis, so keep coming back!
- Healthy recipes made from mostly ingredients people already have in their homes, or that are available to them locally (e.g., at local farmers market). They also contain recipes made from vegetables that people aren’t sure what to do with! The recipe section is a GREAT resource for people who are learning to cook…especially new moms and teens!
- An assortment of entertaining videos that teach good health.
- Messages from faith-leaders to help keep people motivated to stay on track for health!
The snaped4me email listserves are open to all SNAP-eligible people. Those who sign up receive bi-weekly messages with great ideas for staying healthy and some wonderful seasonal recipes.
If you work with people who receive SNAP benefits or WIC, have them sign up to receive emails in English or Spanish by sending their email address (along with a note saying if they want to receive them in English or Spanish) to :
snaped4me Facebook Pages
If your clients don’t like reading emails, have them like us on Facebook to receive shorter ideas on staying healthy!
