AMERICAN DAIRY COUNCIL

The American Dairy Association/Dairy Council Middle Atlantic is one of 23 regional milk promotion organizations working to increase consumption of milk and dairy products. Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa., ADA/DC Middle Atlantic works on behalf of the nearly 5,000 dairy farmers in the Middle Atlantic region who support their program. By working closely with Dairy Management, Inc. and the Milk Processors Education Program, The Dairy Council is able to extend national promotion programs to the local level, reaching even more consumers and driving demand for milk and dairy products. ADA/DC Middle Atlantic's mission is to increase consumption of milk and dairy products through integrated advertising, nutrition education and communications programs. ADA/DC joins the network as a new member who also sits on the Newark Lead Coalition. ADA/DC has collaborated with the NJ SNAP-Ed Support Network for statewide roll out of the "Calcium In/Lead Out" Campaign. During the months of September Pathmark stores in conjunction with ADA/DC, NJ SNAP-Ed Program and Gatewayfeatured lead awareness days at three store locations. A lead van with RDs, Nurses and Lead Educators will perform blood testing on children and answer questions about lead, calcium and environmental issues.
