COMMUNITY FOOD BANK OF NEW JERSEY

The Community Food Bank of New Jersey is the largest source of donated food in New Jersey for 1,500 non-profit charitable organizations who reach out to the hungry in 18 counties. Their mission is to "Fight hunger and poverty by the distribution of food and grocery products, by education and training, by creating model programs, and by involving all sectors of society in this battle." The Food Bank is the link between the food industry and charity. By serving charities throughout New Jersey the Food Bank is able to reach 300,000 people a month at: emergency pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, child care centers, battered women’s shelters, senior programs, drug rehab centers, programs for the mentally and physically disabled, and after school programs. Future collaborations include educational seminars to be held at various Food Bank sites across the state which will focus on the "Calcium In Lead Out" campaign.
